FAQ

General

When is version 1.0 going to be published?

January 25th 2010.

What are the system requirements?

* ATi x800, GeForce 6 series or equivalent 3D accelerator
* Internet connection (preferably 1/1 Mbit DSL or cable)
* 1000 MHz processor
* 256 MB of RAM
* 1024*768 screen resolution
* Keyboard and mouse

Gameplay

Why isn't there a single player mode in Killing Engine?

It would take quite an effort to program all needed functonality for single player game, not to mention programming an authentic A.I. We simply don't have the resources to do it. Maybe in future, if we'll get enough mappers and programmers joining in our team, we could expand the game to this direction.

Is there a line of sight feature in the game?

Yes. Items and other players can't be seen through walls or doors. Otherwise the visibility is limited only to that of the screen. You can see what's going on behind your character just fine.

Is there gonna be vehicles in the game?

In short: no. We used to have a low level version of them in one of out beta versions, but turned out we don't have time to finish them up. Maybe in future updates after version 1.0 is published.

Editor/Mapping

Does is matter what color start points I place to the map?

Yes. Blue ones are for team 1 (Finland) and brown ones are for team 2 (Russia).

Do I have to scatter the start points all over the map?

Well, that's up to you. If you want them to be all around the map, then do it. Consider the upsides and downsides of doing this. What suits your purposes most closely?

How much weapons do I have to put in the map?

Again, this is up to you. If your map is for 32 players, try to figure out how many weapons you want there to be for each side. Remember, each player start the round with only a pistol.
